New guy in town

Chapter 1

Victoria's P.O.V

"Come on, Vicky. You've been reading for two hours!" My really annoying best friend April said. I laid my book down and looked at her.

"April, you know I like to read. So, please let me read!" I said, she had been interrupting me for the last hour and I think I've read the same page all over again, she really was messing me up.

"Ugh, you really need to get a social life, go out. Find some cute boys, huh?" she said, I looked at her arching her eyebrows.

I just shook my head in amusement. "Ah, come on. Let's "go out", it's not like I'm getting any reading done with you bugging me every five minutes." I closed my book and placed it on my nightstand.

"Yay!" She squealed. Sometimes I wonder about her.

I walked up to my closet and took my Navy blue Hollister coat out. It was mid-winter, so it was pretty cold.

"Let's go," I took my phone and wallet. She did the same, and we walked downstairs.

Mom was sitting down watching TV. She looked at me and gave me a mouth close smile.

"We're going out mom," I said, I took my keys and walked out. My mom and I weren't really that close, not after my dad walked out on us when I was 10.

"Where are we going?" I asked April, we walked to her car and got in. I turned the heat on and rubbed my hands together to get rid of the cold.

"The Mall," She answered, she turned the car on and backed away from my driveway.

I turned the radio on and 'Lay me down' by Sam Smith was playing.

"My song!" April excitedly said. She started to sing loudly.

"Can I lay by your side, next to you! You, and make sure you're alright, I'll take care of you and I don't want to be here if I can't be with you tonight!" She shouted the chorus, I laughed at how passionate she looked.

But, Oh God, her voice was hurting my ears.

"April, April! Stop!" I yelled, laughing. She gave me a fake annoyed look but stopped.

"You never let me be happy," She pouted, I just rolled my eyes playfully.

We got to the Mall shortly and started walking in and out of stores.

Two hours later April had her arms full of bags, I only had two bags. One with a new pair of Converse, and another one with a sweatshirt and black leggings.

"Let's go eat, I'm starving!" I whined I hadn't had the opportunity to eat this morning.

"Chinese? She said, texting someone. "Yeah," We started walking to the food court.

We ordered our food and sat down. "How's Jackson?"  I asked as I shoved a spoonful of rice in my mouth.

"He's good, we're going on a date tomorrow." She said, smiling widely.

Jackson and April had been dating since freshman year, but they act as they have just started dating. It's rather cute, but sometimes I feel jealous of them. They just seem so happy. I wish I could have that.

"Aww, where?" I asked taking a sip of my Sprite. "You know Jackson, he's always planning surprise dates." She said, rolling her eyes playfully. But I knew better, she loved those dates.

After 15 minutes, we were finished with our food. We stood up and threw the garbage away. We walked out to the parking lot and walked rapidly to April's car. "God, it' cold!" I rubbed my hands on my arms. April turned the heat full blast.

We stayed there for a little until the car heated up.

"I hate winter. It gets dark so early. Look at that, It's only 5:10 pm and it's so dark already." April whined.

"Yeah, I know. But unfortunately, there's nothing we can do." I said sighing. She started the car and started driving to my house.

I rested my head on the car window and closed my eyes.

"Vicky, wake up!" I heard April yell. I opened my eyes softly. We were parked in front of my house already. "Hey, when did your neighbors move out?" She asked. I looked to the side and saw a moving truck.

"Last week, I think," I said, as I opened the car door and got out.

I stopped in my tracks when I saw the most beautiful creature in the world. He was standing right in front of the house next to mine. He was tall maybe, 6'3. He was tanned, with light brown hair.

"What are you looking at, loser?" He snapped at me.

And that is how a persons' attitude can turn the most beautiful person ugly.

"I-I nothing," I rushed inside, I felt April behind me.

"He's a Greek god, but such an ass!" April said sitting on the couch.

I looked through the window. He was standing there, his hands in his pockets. God, he was gorgeous.

"Stalking the new guy in town?" April said, laughing.
