A/N

So as you guys know I unpublished this book earlier due to writer's block. I just didn't see this book going anywhere, so I did what I thought was best which was to unpublish and make some drastic changes. Some of it was cringey as hell considering I started writing this book at 15 and i am now 17 so yea.I felt as if I was rushing and their relationship was too fast and hurried, so, I decided to restart and rewrite and let me tell you, I re wrote like 5 chapters already because the story is actually flowing and making sense, so with that being said WELCOME TO THE NEW EDITION OF MY STORY WHICH WAS ONCE KNOWN AS 'STONE COLD HEART'. The new and final name is 'Conflicted '

It was friday night and Amber's whole body was exhausted, keeping up with her work schedule was chaotic. With school and work she didn't have it easy. She got out of bed and dragged herself around the apartment trying to straighten it before she left for classes .

Amber sat in Mrs. McKenzie's english class , barely paying attention , instead she was watching the clock, hoping to hear the alarm go off .

"Ms. Rodriguez would you please pay attention!?"

Amber gave a half-hearted smile before rolling her eyes.

School was finally out and Amber , along with her close friend, Carly, decided to go shop for outfits to work in .

After shopping, Amber dropped off Carly at her house then headed home . When she entered the house , she felt a sense of relief and comfort . She inhaled the scent of her room and threw herself on the bed , exhausted , she drifted off to sleep in less than 30 minutes .

She woke up about 2 hours later and realization quickly kicked in ,she had work in less than a hour . She jumped up and out of bed, took a quick shower , brushed her teeth and threw on some sweats , an oversized T-shirt, and quickly tied her hair into a ponytail. She pushed her feet into the closest things she could find , and to her luck it happened to be open toe sandals . She was way overdressed for her job that didn't require as much clothing. She grabbed her bag, car keys and headed out .

Before long, she arrived at the night club which she currently worked.

As she strolled through the hallways , she received nasty glares from other girls but she was used to them being that she was at the club for five months now.

As she proceeded to her room , she met Quan, her boss .

"Nice to see you Amber "
"You too Jaquan"
"Come on, you know I hate that name "
"Well the name hates you too"

He chuckled at her failed attempt to be funny.

"Well Carly is already here and she's inside the room , have a good night "

She hugged Quan and proceeded to walk inside of the dressing room . She saw Carly straightening hair. She also noted that Carly had on a black lace bra and some black matching panties to go with it .

"Rack up some money for the both of us" Amber said through laughter.

Carly started chuckling "You're dumb as hell , did you know that ?"

"Yea, you tell me everyday"

Amber sat down beside Carly at the vanity and began doing her make up . Amber allowed Carly to do her makeup since she was not a frequent make up user while Carly was. Amber put on a short enough black ripped shorts and a bralette.

"you're lucky Quan likes you, because how you dress is definitely not club appropriate"

"I have a pretty face, that alone is my golden ticket " Amber teased childishly.
