The hot liquid burns my throat
Every time I tip back the heavy glass
Something about feeling fire
Throughout my veins
Gives me a sense of comfort
The dizziness follows
And my eyes become heavy
I am lost in the sea
Of forgotten souls
I float painlessly
And drift into the vast darkness
As I wake many hours later
I am overcome with remorse
The day drags on
And then I repeat what I had done
Losing myself, my troubles
Temporarily, once again
