New Child
by anonymous

The new child giggles and waves her hand.

Her eyes are blue, her skin the color of sand.

I look upon her, with a comforting smile. Too bad so sad I only have her for a while

I can't. I won't. I can't let her go. I love her, this she must know

I cradle her in my arms and run down the hall.

New child I love you. You can have my all.

New child I whisper in her ear. Don't be frightened I am here

New child you are innocent know that I will protect you from anything in the world.

Know I love you and you are safe as long as I am here.

I say this, shedding a tear.

Know that I will give my life for you new child
