Chapter 8

It's Official

"Michael, i don't know how to say this without hurting you but, I think I like another guy".

Staring at my shoes against the tile I hear him sigh. It crushes my heart saying no to someone but I know Taylor asked me already.

"It's just, your so beautiful and I don't know how I could resist a girl like you. Every science class I just stare at you beauty. Please Riley". He pleads as he reaches for my hands as I pull away.

"Like I just said no, I like someone else".

"Riley who is it, who could be better then me. I've known you for three and a half years and I've always wanted you to be my girlfriend but I've been to scared to ask".

"It's flattering and all, but I'm already going with Taylor".

"Wait, are you guys a couple". He says with shock and hatred in his voice "I told Taylor I liked you, he knew that".

"I'm sorry Michael".

"Don't talk to me".

I make my way over to my seat trying to process what just happened. He told Taylor he liked me, Taylor only was interested in me only a little a while ago from what I know.

The bell rings overhead as everyone finds there seats.

"The periodic table of elements, containing one hundred and eighteen elements known to man. Everyone please pull out there textbooks and flip to chapter three page ninety-seven. The periodic table contains elements created by alchemists...".

I look back to see Michael scribbling on a piece of paper before handing it to the person In front of him. The read it then look at me, suddenly I feel this wave of sickness enclosing on my body. The note is passed around the class as people look and laugh at me.

What have I done wrong!

"Excuse me". I say interrupting the lesson as Mr. Wood gives me a stern look.

"What is it Riley".

"Can I please go to the washroom".

"Go ahead" he responds a I quickly get out of my chair as Mr. Wood continues his lesson.

I walk into the bathroom and pull out my phone. I felt it buzz in class but if I ever pulled out my phone mr. Wood would have a heart attack.

The feeling in my stomach creeps around as my head starts pounding. How did Samantha find out? Was it Michael who handed the letter to her? Does the whole class know?

Just then the bathroom door swings open as Caroline come walking in.

"Riley I was looking for you".
