Lexis sat on the bench outside the conference room. He knew his mom waited for him in there, but all he could think about was Fayth. He was worried about her. He was anxious to know how she was holding up. He cared for her health and her strength to see beyond the tornado that was shaking her life apart right now.

He wondered how she was doing. He shouldn't have left her there. What if she faced Jessie with what she saw? What if she...

Lexis stood to his feet, his thoughts froze as he remembered the pills in her drawer.

She wouldn't...

He quickly made his way back, running to the place he saw her last, but she wasn't there.

He turned around and quickly exited the Academy, then snuck into her dorm.

She wasn't there either.

Where is she?

His heart pounded with fear for her. He searched around some more, in places he guessed she'd be in. But wherever it is that he looked, she wasn't there.

Charles.

If she had met with Charles, and if he had found out about what happened, he wouldn't let her go to her dorm by herself. He wouldn't let her see Jessie. He would...

Anger engulfed Lexis at the thought alone. He walked toward the boys' dormitory, his anger growing by the second. He took out his phone and found the list for the students' dorm pin numbers. As soon as he reached Charles' dorm, he dialed it in and opened the door.

It was dark. Quiet. As Lexis made his way in, he saw two figures sleeping together on the bed. A volcano erupted within him. He held back the urge to take ahold of something and smash it against the wall–or better yet, against the slippery little devil's head. He was so enraged by the sight of them together, by Charles' arm around her, that he almost choked the bastard to death.

He clenched his hands into fists and paused near the bedside, staring at them as they both slept. Their chests rising and falling with their deep breathing. He knew exactly how the bastard had felt having her this close to him. He knew exactly what kind of thoughts ran through his head the entire time, and Lexis found himself going berserk at that alone.

He slowly undid Fayth from around Charles' arms and picked her up gently, as quietly and as still as he could so she won't wake up, then removing the cover off Charles and throwing it on the ground, he left the room, turning the heat off in the dorm before exiting the door.

When Fayth woke up, a strange feeling engulfed her. She slowly straightened up in the bed she was in, and found herself in a completely different room than the dorm she was in yesterday.

Was I caught?

Lexis came out from one of the rooms inside. Startled, she quickly asked, "How did I get here?"

He walked over. "You said you missed Anthony. You came here and then fell asleep."

"Oh." She frowned. The stress from yesterday must have taken a bigger toll on her than she realized. "I'll go now then. I'm sorry to disturb you." She tried to stand up, but fell back, her legs were weak, numb.

He sighed with relief.

She looked down, her insides was constricted with depression. "Sorry, maybe in a bit..." she mumbled, laying back against the pillow.

He came over and sat on the edge of the bed. "Here." He stuck out a cup.

She gladly took it and wrapped her hands around the warm beverage.

With his arms resting on his knees and fingers entwined together, Lexis leaned forward. "He had been like that for awhile. You confused him for some reason, but then he realized his feelings weren't defined to love a woman, or in any way be attracted to one. He saw you as someone warm and kind, a good friend."

Fayth looked down at her drink, feeling even more restricted.

Lexis stood up. "You can leave whenever you'd like." He turned to leave.

Fayth caught his hand. He froze.

"I'm sorry." She said.

Not looking at her and concealing his expression, he asked, "For what?"

"Just know that I'm sorry. For everything."

The feeling of her hands, the surprising tenderness in her voice, it was more than what he could take right then. He pulled his hand away.

"I'll go now." He choked out, his voice hoarse.

He quickly left the room, his heartbeat shaking his chest.
