CHAPTER 8 GOTCHA!

Rusty's Point of View

What a very interesting way to start my Monday. This morning pa lang, si Samotny na agad ang napansin ko. She always has a knack for catching my attention. Since the beginning of my senior year palagi ko na lang nakaka-encounter yung babaeng' yon. I don't know why but she sure does make my days more entertaining.

*Chuckles*

Naalala ko na naman yung nangyari kanina during our flag ceremony. Was Samotny glancing at me? I happened to look at her direction dahil as usual ang ingay ingay niya. Ang likot likot pa, parang she couldn't stand in the same position for a long time. And that's when I saw her looking at me. Slow motion pa nga e. Then she instantly looked somewhere else. Ha. I couldn't help myself from laughing. Her face was epic.

"Rusty, maganda yata gising mo this morning. Tumatawa ka na lang diyan mag-isa." Pansin ni Theodore, then he stared at the direction I was looking at.

"Hmmm..... sa first section ba? Ibang iba ka na talaga Rusty ah!" then he gave me that evil grin again.

"It's nothing Theodore. I just remembered something funny."

"If you say so boss!" but he didn't look convinced.

The whole time during the flag ceremony, I decided to keep an eye on her to check if she was going to glance at my direction again.

Kung kanina she kept on moving around, ngayon naman she looks so stiff. Parang hindi gumagalaw.

So I waited....waited...waited.... Still, hindi pa rin siya lumilingon. But I'm not giving up.

Until it's time to go to our classes na. Aba, ayaw talagang tumingin ah. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe she was just looking around.

And just as when I was about to give up on the idea that she was glancing at me, I saw her turn around. Slowly again. Our eyes met. Her cheeks turned red and she quickly turned her back at me.

Gotcha! I was so pleased with my self. But I felt something weird during that moment I caught her eye. I don't know but somehow I find myself smiing again.

"Pare, can you explain why our friend is smiling all to himself again?" tanong ni Kokeng.

"Bugs me. Pero kanina pa yan nakatingin dun sa direction ng first section girls. Our friend is a different man these days. He doesn't want to admit it but I'm sure we'll find out soon."

Theodore is on my case again. He just wouldn't stop.

"Theodore, are you bored again? You're always bugging me."

"Don't worry buddy, I won't stop bugging you. HAHAHAHA."

Change of class period na. While waiting for our next teacher, I decided to go to the comfort room first. On my way to the stairway, I couldn't help but check the first section class. It's on the way and it's inevitable not to look in that direction. Right Rusty? Since when did I bother look in there? Usually I would just walk past their classroom without even looking at any of the rooms. And why do I even sound like I'm defending myself.

Well, I still looked anyway. And just as I was passing by, nagkatinginan na naman kami ni Samotny. Bummer! Does she always look by the window everytime someone passes by? I wasn't expecting that. This time she caught me looking. Wait....wait....wait! I wasn't looking because of her! But what then Rusty? I'm sure I just wanted to check out what's going on in their class. That's all.
