Here I am, in a hospital, awaiting my boyfriends fate. Maybe if he actually listened to me, this wouldn't have happened. My heart is jumping out of my throat. I can't contain my anxiety at all. Everyone sees it.

"Do you know what happened?" Trey asked me. I nod my head no, keeping myself from crying. "We just, we had an argument, some things were said, and that was the last time I saw him." I thought back to our little fight.

The crew told me August's mom was on her way. I immediately tensed up, regarding our situation. How am I gonna act? How is she going to react? I bit my nails and shook my leg. The doctors won't tell us anything! It's like I'm left in the dark.

We sat there for hours until Sheila found us. We both made eye contact and ran over to each other. Hugging and crying together. "Oh my god, sweetie, I'm so sorry! I didn't-" "Forget it Sheila! There's bigger things we have to worry about!" I sobbed.

She held and rubbed my back, as to sort of calm me down. "Do you know what happened?" I shook my head no. "They won't tell me anything. I'm so worried Sheila." I wiped my nose. "I'm worried too baby girl." Her arm around my shoulder. Everyone was tired. It's been a long night.

"Ash, I need some sleep. I think we all do. Tell us if anything has changed?" Chris asked. Everybody started getting up. I nodded. "Ashley, are you sure you're good here with Sheila? Vella and I have no problem staying here with you." Khayman offered.

"I'm fine K. Sheila's here, so I should be alright. You need to go get some sleep though! I'll call you if I need anything." I hugged him. "I love you Ash." "I love you too Khayman." I smiled tiredly. Sheila and I sat there before someone finally told us something about August. "Excuse me, are you the family of August Alsina?" He approached us.

We practically ran up to the doctor. "Yes. I'm his mother, and she's his girlfriend." Sheila spoke. "Sorry it took us so long to tell you something. But August was injured pretty badly. He has a couple of bruised ribs, a small concussion, and not to mention, a couple bullet wounds."

"Oh god! He got shot?" I broke down crying. "But he's okay now right?" Sheila asked. "Jesus, let him be okay." She mumbled under her breath. "Yes. We had to get him to the OR to get the bullets out, but overall he's okay." We both sigh. "Can we please see him?" She asked. "Sure. He might be still asleep. Depending if the medication and morphine have worn off."

The doctor wrote on his clipboard. "Room 106." He said before walking away. Sheila and I rushed over to his room. Entering, we both didn't realize we held our breaths until we entered the room and saw him laying in the bed. I start sobbing.

Sheila pulls me in a hug and rubs my back, humming to hush me up. "Babe, don't cry. I'm okay. I'm right here." He said with his eyes closed and voice groggy. "AUGUST ANTHONY ALSINA JR. HOW IN THE WORLD ARE YOU GON SCARE YA MAMA LIKE THAT? STOP DOIN THIS SHIT TO ME!" Sheila yelled, approaching his bed.

August smacked his lips. "Mama, I ain't trynna hear all of this right na." He lightly shook his head. "I should whoop that ass!" Sheila clapped. "Maybe you need some air mama, go get something from the cafeteria. You haven't eaten anything." I offered. "I'm fine sweetie." She shooed me away. "Sheila." I tilted my head. "Ugh, aight." She walked out.

The door closed behind her and I took a seat beside August. He gave me a weary smile. I was annoyed with this nigga. How are you gonna smile when you're all beat up? I gave him a look. "Babe, really? Is this necessary?" He closed his eyes. "Actually, it really is." I stared at my lap.

He looked at me, waiting for me to say something. "August, you don't understand how much of a scare I had tonight. & the fact that we were fighting, it lead to all of this. It's almost like all of this is my fault.." I pointed to his injuries." "But-" "Listen. I'm not trynna be up all in your face, but August, I told you so. Not hearing anything about how you were doing, it had me feeling like I wanted to throw up. I almost lost you!" My lip quivered.

He was expecting me to yell. Too bad I was exhausted to do anything. "Baby girl, after all the shit that's gone down? Our fight earlier, that shit was stupid. You know what? You were right. I should've listened. Ashley, look at me." He ordered.

I looked at him with glossy eyes. "It took me this fuckin long to realize the shit I had! I could've lost everythin tonight. Includin you. I FUCKIN LOVE YOU ASHLEY." He patted his chest, his voice cracking just a little. Tears started leaving my eyes. "Havin my life flash before my eyes made me think about you. I'd do ANYTHIN in this world for you babe. You know that. I love you so much. I can't afford this shit anymo." Was this man crying? Oh my god. "So I guess it was a scare for the both of us." He nodded.

The doctor came in, with Mama Sheila following behind. "Mr. Alsina, you're going to have to take it easy the next couple weeks. We're going to keep you for a few more days to make sure everything checks out fine, & then we'll discharge you." He smiled. "In the meantime, take these pills whenever you feel the pain is unbearable." He handed him 2 pill bottles. "Mama, step out real quick." He asked. "Boy, who you th-" "MAMA! JUST DO IT!" He interrupted.

The doctor looked confused at the hostility. "Can I have sex?" "Well, looking at your injuries &-" "Can I have sex or not?" He asked. "August!" I blushed. "I would take everything easy. Nothing really crazy. No, I suggest you wait till those bruised ribs fully heal." August threw his head back and smacked his lips in disappointment. "You better not give in!" The doctor pointed at me. "No funny business." I laughed.

"Exactly." Sheila said. This woman heard the conversation? Oh lord. I covered my face. "Thank you doctor." She said. "No problem." He smiled, headed towards the door. "I better be gettin some grandchildren soon!" "Ma, chill out! I haven't even married Ash yet. We still got time." He said slowly falling asleep. "I'm just saying! I'm not gettin any younger." She flipped her hair.

Is he actually considering marriage? Will he want to continue this relationship after he founds out what I did? I hope he does.
