Intertwined

"Hurry up, [name]!"

Seeing that you weren't catching up, [crush] ran back to you. "Geez, [name]. We need to get there quickly!" he said, pouting. You simply huffed. "We've been running for almost fifteen minutes already, and it's evening! Geez to you, too!" you whined, flailing your arms. He seemed quite shocked.

"I-is that so . . ." he mumbled, then looked around, thinking of a solution. "The place's still five minutes away. C'mon, you can do it!" he said, turning to you with a bright face. You still stared at him with a blank expression, as if you are on the verge of passing out.

"Er . . . or, unless, you want me to carry you?" he said in a confused tone of voice. Hearing this made your face steam and turn red. "N-nevermind that, [crush]!" you blurted out, laughing. "Let's go!"

You started walking forward, leaving [crush] behind. But as you were meters away from him, you noticed that he still hasn't caught up with you, and he did not even started to walk! You walked back to him.

"Hey, what's wrong?" you asked worriedly. He did not reply, not even moving a bit. He just stared at you. "Hellooo?" you said, waving your hands in front of his face, but he just kept staring. You sighed, then you snapped in front of his face. He did not even blink! Giving up, you patted both his cheeks with your hands.

"What's with the losing energy?" you asked him, still patting his cheeks. Then he made a whining sound. "Oh?" you mumbled, this time, softly pinching his cheeks. "What is it?"

He grabbed your hands.

"Hm?"

"[naaaame]!" he whined.

"Yeah? Why? Is there something wrong?"

He kept silent for a minute.

"At least let me hold your hands!" he suddenly said, a bit loudly, which startled you. But then you started to have a laughing fit. You actually thought there was something so wrong, like he was feeling sick or something, but then all this drama was just because of a small thing: that he wanted to hold your hands!

"Seriously, why didn't you tell me that earlier?" you said, still laughing.

His cheeks turned red a bit. "Th-that's because you left me!" he replied, full face and ears turning more red as you laughed harder.

"Well," you said, "nothing."

He was left there with a confused face, until he was being dragged to the small park, with his and your hands intertwined together, you leading the way instead.
