"Yes I'm your new roommate," I smile a bit as she keeps holding my hand in hers.

Her eyes began to travel as the silence between us continued, the song Maps playing over and over as she stared. I looked her over as well, a small smirk laid along her full lips and slight sparkle in her eyes. I couldn't help but blush from embarrassment.

"Could I-"

"Oh my bad hun, didn't mean to make you uncomfortable," she says as she lets go of my hand and goes to her bed hoping on it. "Either your parents hate you or they are too busy to take you to school."

"I-My- My parents are really busy but it was my decision to come here-"

"Bit late though," she interrupts as she pulls out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter, "Oh  do you mind?"

"No not at all."

"Great, hard habit to break but I had a stressful day-"

"Classes haven't started yet though."

"True but it wasn't class related," pulling out a cigarette she lights it and offers me one.

"No thank you-"

"Sweetheart ya momma and ya daddy-"

"I have two dads," I say softly, interrupting her comment looking up at her to see her smirking and taking a hit.

"Ah two dads, is one of them-"

"Yes he is, and my brother is also from the same mother as me."

"Aw that's touching, but moving take a breather your side looks complete anyways," she to take another hit and blows it out her nose, "And like I was going to say you need to relax no ones here to scold you."

I nod letting my shoulders fall as I lift my body onto my made bed. As I pick up my phone the room goes silent again except for the music. I noticed the smoke had stopped filling the room and looked at pictures on my phone. Smiling at the pictures of my friends, I teared up a little and blinked them away.

"So, what's your trade-"

"My trade?" I asked facing her.

"Yes hun trade, it is an artistically driven institution so you must specialize in an art," she added elegantly with a small chuckle, her full lips spread into a sweet smile.

"Oh I sing, paint/ draw, and write. Here I'll probably focus on my voice and leave the other two as hobbies," I answered blushing slightly at her warm smile.

"Ah a singer, well I hope to see you in class or performing in a showcase, the winter or spring festivals," she said as she sat up to fully face me, her hands stretch out behind her and her legs crossed.

"I've heard about those, record labels and companies usually come to sign new talent-"

"What's more important is the student run after parties hun. The labels only look at-" she pauses and gets off her bed walking to her closet, "Seniors or prodigies."

I shrug and sits up as I change the music. Yawning I close my eyes and open them to see her in a stripped red and black cardigan a red v-neck underneath with a loose black tie, black skinny jeans, red, black & gray sneakers, and a red beanie her hair loose and un-ponytailed underneath.

"Where-"

"To welcome you officially a party has been developed for all the newbies. So-" she stands up fully leaning back on her bed crossing her arms with a smirk, "I suggest you get dressed sweetheart."

I blush as stare silently and regains control and laughs a little then nods and goes to my closet biting my lip as I open it up and looks for an outfit.

"I'll be outside my friend needs me to pick him up," I nod not looking at her, "Be back soon then."

I watch her leave out of the corner of my eye and sighs as the door closes.

"Damn," I say to myself biting my lower lip, "This is gonna be a long night."
