This is essentially a qualifying round, showing your willingness and desire to take part. Your story here should be no more than 500 words in length and must be inspired in some way by this image...

This round is not judged, it's all about throwing your hat into the ring!
Entries must be written in English. Unfortunately, we have no other language capabilities at this time.
Whilst some leeway will be given, do your best to keep things PG-13.
Any entries submitted after June 30th will not be considered eligible.
Only entries submitted via this form will be considered eligible for judging, however should you wish to share the link to your entry in the comments section, please feel free to do so!

Come June 30th, regardless of how many takers we get, competitors will be split into groups and each will have slightly different prompts for the next three rounds. Each of these rounds will be two weeks in length, with a maximum word count of 1,000 words. Those with the highest scores (as judged by Ambassadors working this profile) from those three rounds will move forwards to a series of elimination rounds, culminating in a final battle between the two hardiest of HistFiccers!
