Destiny, 'Walking away isn't escaping all the time, sometimes its the toughest job to do and the one who does breaks their own heart.'

Mehra Mansion

''How can you even ask for that. '' Sam was shocked hearing the demand Akshay had put up to Neil. He stood there frozen at his place to shocked to react.

''Make you decision Neil. I love Sam too much and I won't let her stay under the same roof as Radhika. '' Akshay ignored Sam's protest focusing on Neil.

Neil stared at him and smirked. Moving his eyes to Sam he took a step to her, he held her hand softly between his, ''I am sorry Sam. If I have to leave my Birdie alone to be with you, I would rather not marry you.'' Sam smiled with tears in her brown eyes. She kept her other hand over hers squeezing it gently, ''Had you agreed to Bade papa's terms, I would have broken up with you that minute.'' Neil pulled her in a hug, she sobbed hugging him tightly and then pushed him back softly, ''It was nice knowing you Neil Melhotra'' She playfully extended  her hand to him. Neil grabbed it giving it a warm shake.

He turned to Akshay, ''Congratulations! you succeed in breaking your daughters heart.'' He left Mehra Mansion without waiting for his reply. Sam stood  watching him disappearing from her eyes. Her body shook in pain, she covered her mouth but couldn't stop the hiccup from escaping. Nandini placed her hand on Sam's shoulder, Sam removed it before running up to her room. She collapsed with her back to the door, the storm that turned her heart heavy, broke her heart and left her in  a puddle of her own tears.

Melhotra House

''Good riddance,  I anyways never preferred Khannas. Don't worry Neil, we will find you a girl lot better than Sam.'' Prerna rubbed Neil's back consoling her son. Neil got up irritated, he stared at his mother angrily, ''Do you think she was some toy of gadget that you can get another one. Mom, if you don't care for her feelings, respect mine.'' He angrily left the hall.

Nihal stared at his wife with a defeated expression. He couldn't believe she still had grudge against Sam knowing that his son was dearly in love with Sam.

Radhika sat frozen in her room. ''You are an ill omen, you will ruin everything you touch'' Her aunt's words echoed her ears. May be she was right, Radhika lost everything she loved. Her parents, sister. It was because of her that danger loomed over Melhotra's for so long. Even Navya had to pay the price. She was an ill omen. She left her bed and walked  to her dresser, she stared at the girl looking back through the mirror. ''I wish I was ugly but blessed.'' She kept pondering over the condition Mehras had put forth for Neil Sam's wedding. She smiled sadly, once again her destiny decided to colour her life black. Once again, she will be losing her parents, her AD and her best friend. She took a deep breath, it was 11 in night and house was dead silent. Everybody had retired early owing to the tense air around. She stepped out of the room and took the corridor towards Neil's room.

The door was left ajar, pushing a little she stepped in, the room was empty. Radhika walked to the balcony and found him staring at the moon, ''Are you looking for her in moon.''

He didn't turn, she watched as his shoulders slumped in defeat. She watched his body shaking. Without wasting a minute, she wrapped her arms around his middle from behind. This was the first time in years she had seen him breaking down. ''AD not you. I can't see you like this.''

Neil turned around and broke down, hugging Radhika tightly, ''I love her Birdie , I love her too much to let her go. Why can't these people understand?'' Radhika rubbed his back but kept quiet. Sam mattered to him, more than she could comprehend. She walked Neil to his bed and made him lie down. For years, he had stayed awake putting her to sleep and now it was her turn. She wiped his eyes and patted his head, ''Sleep AD, we will find a way.''
