[CLOSED] A DIY Wasteland Scenario

Happy April WZ Wastelanders!

After a long wait, the WattpadZombies Team is excited to release our next contest in a collab with DystopianApocalypse, but with a twist to it!

Prompt

Trick question: there isn't one.

We want you to test the bounds of your creative dystopian/apocalypse wasteland-loving minds by creating your very own blurb AND short story.

First, in no more than 200 words, we want you to craft a blurb from an idea that you've shelved in the past.

It can be any idea you devise so long as it has a dystopian and/or apocalyptic wasteland element clearly visible in it!

Second, after you finish crafting your own blurb, then it's time to put it to use! We want you to write a short story with that blurb in no more than 2000 words!

We hope that this contest inspires fellow writers to jumpstart into their next dystopian/apocalyptic wasteland venture into the unknown!

If you decide to expand your short story after this contest - we recommend making an expanded version and submitting your story into our reading list submission forms!

Guidelines

1) The deadline is April 30th at 11:59PM UTC

2) BLURB WORD COUNT: Maximum 200 words

3) ENTRY WORD COUNT: Maximum 2000 words

4) The language of this contest is English only

5) Please publish the story on your profile either as a stand-alone story or as a chapter in an existing anthology. Only one chapter, please.

6) One entry per user, if you submit multiple entries only the 1st entry submitted will be eligible

7) OPTIONAL Tag: #ScenarioWasteland #DystopianApocalypse #WattpadZombies #CrowbarOut

8) Fanfiction is allowed, but the blurb and content should be your own original work

9) Mature content is allowed, but it must abide by Wattpad's Content Guidelines

10) Criteria for judging includes:

- Relevance to the prompt - Stories must be relevant to the prompts above and must follow our rules to be eligible for judging.

- Grammar and style - Quality of writing, particularly adherence to good grammar, spelling, and punctuation, will be judged.

- Creativity - We're always looking for fresh takes and creative approaches to writing.
